Effects of Urban Form on Carbon Emissions in China: Implications for Low-Carbon Urban Planning
نویسندگان
چکیده
Carbon emissions are closely related to global warming. More than 70% of carbon have been generated in cities. Many studies analyzed the effects cities on emissions, from perspective urbanization, economics, and land use, yet a detailed understanding relationship between urban form is lacking due absence reasonable set metrics. The aim this research explore through empirical research. By eliminating collinearity, we established landscape metrics comprising Class Area (CA), Mean Perimeter–Area Ratio (PARA-MN), Proximity Index (PROX-MN), Euclidian Nearest Neighbor Distance (ENN-MN) representing area, complexity, compactness, centrality, respectively. Through spatial autocorrelation analysis, results show that there positive emissions. high–high agglomeration regions located Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Yangtze River Delta, while low–low concentrated Southwest Heilongjiang Province. Based error model, for whole study CA, PARA-MN, ENN-MN correlation with but PROX-MN opposite. ordinary least squares, PARA-MN Northeast East, North Mid-South, significantly correlated These findings helpful low-carbon planning.

Diverse Effects of Consumer Credit on Household Carbon Emissions at Quantiles: Evidence from Urban China
This paper surveys the diverse effects of consumer credit on household carbon emissions (HCEs) based on consumption patterns revealed by urban Chinese survey data. Based on the foundation of existing literature, consumption patterns and influential factors are carefully chosen to build empirical models that apply Heteroscedasticity-consistent covariance matrix estimation and quantile regression...

متن کاملLow-Carbon Urban Planning from an Ecosystem Perspective
Low-carbon city is a hotspot under the background of climate change. Current problem on low-carbon urban planning was analyzed based on low-carbon city development practices. Low-carbon urban planning methods were studied from an ecosystem perspective, and new pathways for low-carbon city construction were suggested. Low-carbon development should be carried on from four aspects: urban structure...
متن کاملUrban Tree Effects on Soil Organic Carbon
Urban trees sequester carbon into biomass and provide many ecosystem service benefits aboveground leading to worldwide tree planting schemes. Since soils hold ∼75% of ecosystem organic carbon, understanding the effect of urban trees on soil organic carbon (SOC) and soil properties that underpin belowground ecosystem services is vital. We use an observational study to investigate effects of thre...
